  • How is a DJ better than a band?
    Our system will sonically surpass any bands performance. Our systems outperform any band in versatility of style. We can play any song you wish to hear at a moments notice, at the appropriate volume the way you've heard it before - not the band's interpretation of the song. Our cost is only one-third of what a good band charges and we do not take breaks. Ultimately we give you more music entertainment for your money.

  • Every company says they're the best. Who do I believe?
    Their current customers - after they become past customers! After you've gotten a few names and dates to check out a performance, wait until after the dates have passed, then ask the DJ for their numbers and call them. If you can't see a show yourself, this is the best alternative. If you just ask for references, you might get their mother or girlfriend.

  • How do I know if a company's DJs are good?
    Ask what type of quality control program they have in place. Most common is the "report card" a client fills out about the DJs at the end of the night. Ask to see these from recent events.

  • One company I called says all DJ's systems look alike. Is this true?
    No. Most use tables with skirts and the equipment stacked up giving a cluttered appearance, but the better ones use professional booth set-ups. Companies with cheap looking systems say that and don't want you to compare them on that. Some even purposely avoid letting you see their set-up until your event because you'll probably be disappointed. Spectrum Sound uses a booth set-up. You will appreciate the neatness.

  • Do you require a deposit?
    A 50% deposit is required to officially book your date, this can be done using a check, money order or credit card.

  • Can you announce the Bridal Party?
    Yes, so long as the information is forwarded to us at least two weeks prior to the wedding date and the announcement is within the contracted time.

  • I have a list of all of my favorite songs that I want the DJ to play in order. How do I make sure this happens?
    You don't want to. but, if your DJ has no experience or you are hiring a family friend, you might have to. When you hire a professional, they've been to hundreds of events like yours. And while each event is different, they will adapt to you and your guests all night playing requests from everyone. Just like you selected food that appeals to all of your guests, choose categories of music you prefer and let the DJ do the rest for you.

  • It's my wedding, shouldn't my day be special?
    It will be! Good DJs keep in constant contact with you all night and there are many special things the DJ will have your guests doing at your reception. But most Brides/Grooms forget that everyonein the room will want their 5-minutes of conversation with them. As a result, most don't even hear half of the songs that are played. It's better to choose between 10-15 songs that you most want played and the DJs will make sure you know when they are. (Why only 10-15? Because 4-hours of music is only 50-55 songs!)

  • How can I tell if a DJ will really play the requests my guests ask him for?
    Ask how his music is organized. Some companies that say they have 5,000 songs at an event but don't have them organized by the "song titles" have a worthless library. If it's not easy to find, it's gonna take a while to play it... if at all. Our music is professionally organized and easily accessible.

  • Do you accept requests?
    Yes, it is our policy to accept and fill requests from our clients as well as their guests.

  • Can we request types of songs that we do not want played?
    We invite you to request song selections to be played or not played at your wedding or event. We also offer you the opportunity to direct our DJ to include / not include music suggestions from your guests.

  • What if I want to determine the song list and my guests don't enjoy the selections?
    It is our goal to make your wedding as satisfying to you as we can, this usually means making your day special to your guests as well. Our experience has been that tastes in music are as unique as each individual and therefore we cannot guarantee the likes or dislikes of every individual at your event. Our DJs are seasoned and experienced enough to read an audience and adapt musical presentations to suit the preferences of your guests while remaining consistent to your wishes.

  • After all of my questions, two companies are evenly matched. How do I decide?
    Ask them if you can visit a live performance before you decide. Ask your booking coordinator for details on visiting a "live" performance.

  • What style music will be played?
    Whatever kind you want from music that was released 30 years or 30 days ago. From waltzes to Rap, we play any style music you desire.

  • Will you be setting up as our guests arrive?
    This will depend on the starting time. All of our equipment is encased in professional travel cases so our set-up time is minimal.

  • Do you have references available?
    Being in business since 1974, we have a list of references as-well-as comment sheets you may read at your request. We invite you to inquire at your reception place as well as other vendors you are hiring who are probably familiar with us.
